Bristling with dynamic energy, Poacher's End delivers a solid Book 2 in the Frank Mattituck series. Frank and his new friend Earl are now running a charter boat business together. Meanwhile, a corrupt fisherman is poaching illegally, pushing others out of business and causing anger amongst the locals. So it's not much of a surprise when he turns up murdered soon after. Frank is shocked when Todd Benson, the Alaska State Trooper, immediately thinks Earl is the murderer. Confident in the innocence of his new business partner, Frank decides to do his own investigating in order to prove Todd wrong. While both men investigate the case separately, they are suddenly united again when a common enemy resurfaces from the past. Something sinister is brewing, and unbeknownst to Frank Mattituck and Todd Benson, they're right in the middle of it.Lundburg set himself up with an impressive premise to live up to from Book 1, and he does it here almost effortlessly. The action scenes and confrontations are just as tense, and just as heart pounding. Complete with stormy nautical pursuits, hand-to-hand combat, and even a car chase, fans of the series will no doubt be pleased to follow Frank Mattituck again through the Alaskan wilderness in pursuit of a killer. The growing romance between Frank and Monica gives the reader a welcome respite from the harrowing close calls.
As we await Book 3, to be released on November 10th, 2017, I find myself becoming increasingly fascinated by the character of Frank Mattituck. At heart, Frank Mattituck is a simple man. But he will do whatever it takes to find out the truth.....come what may.

Poacher End The Frank Mattituck Series Book 2 edition by P Wesley Lundburg Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Ned’s dead—who killed him? But who cares? No one around town cares much for dead Ned, and that complicates things, but Frank and Todd want to find out who killed this unlikable guy. Frank Mattituck and his Alaska State Trooper friend Todd Benson are a great tag team for solving the murder. Lundburg will wind you up right to the last page of this book! The final chapters are a spectacular race to the truth (on a boat headed for another murder) and well worth the wait through the unraveling mystery. The dialogue is genuine and the setting seems like a truly beautiful and scenic place. The serene setting is actually a great contrast for the ugly or wild things that can happen.
P. Wesley Lundburg is a master of the craft and knows how to take a reader through a story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this murder mystery, and it’s not even a genre I’ve read much of before, though I do like films in this fashion. I enjoyed book one, but this one was even better. This book moves fast for 377 pages. This one is also a good stand-alone book, so you can start it without yet having read book one, though I do recommend the first book. I’d actually be curious what the series is like if you read book two first before reading book one. I read this on an ipad, so I wouldn’t mind getting a print copy and rereading it sometime for a different, closer experience. I’ll certainly grab book three when it comes out and will be curious to see what happens with Frank, Todd, and Monica. The Norm Peck line could be interesting too if that continues into something. Definitely could be a Netflix series in the works!
Yes! This one was even better than the first book in the series. My only disappointment was that I read it too fast and have to wait for the 3rd book to come out. I highly recommend this series. The writing is fabulous and makes you want to read 'just one more page'. I can't wait for book three!
Second in the series (make sure to read Skipper's Oath first). Everyman author for an everyman reader. Never boring, constant movement by the characters keeps you in the seat. Hope the third book in the series appears quickly.
Very good book it was a great book to read. I liked this book better than the first book. They both were well written and very interesting. Write more books.
Although this is the second book in a series it stands alone quite nicely. There are strands that run through the two books but each story is unique and engages the reader successfully. New characters are added and we get to know returning characters even better. With each book I read I feel like I was present and involved in the action. It is easy to get lost in Mr. Lundburgs fluid style of writing. I seriously enjoyed this book
Good mystery-thriller. Book #2 may be read as the continuation from the first book in the Frank Mattituck series, but it is written that it could stand on its own without having read the first book. The author expands his characters beyond the first book to keep the reader interested. The action keeps you involved, and you really never know “whodunit,” or why, until the last pages. A character introduced in the first book may or may not continue as the “bad” guy in this second book. I look forward to reading book #3, and reading how Lundburg continues to develop all characters, and introduces new characters and adventures.
